*SERVE WITH HEAVEN IN MIND*

*Luke 10:17-20*
_17 The seventy-two returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in your name!” 18 And he said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. 19 Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you. 20 Nevertheless, do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.”_
Jesus never missed any opportunity to draw our attention to heaven. He always expects that in whatever we do, we have heaven in minds. Can you believe that the disciples had come back from a miraculous crusade with testimonies, excited about the experience of power over the enemy in the mission field and all Jesus talked about was heaven?
Was He not the One who sent them? He was. Was He not the One who told them He had given them power over the power of the devil? Was He not the same Person who told them He saw Satan fall like lightning? Jesus did all that and He knew all that; and yet He wanted them not to ever forget about heaven.
What Jesus told the seventy in those days is the same thing He will say to the preachers and the ministers today who have pushed heaven into the background, and are busy talking about how powerful they are by virtue of the anointing upon their lives. Jesus did not reduce the value of His anointing upon their lives. He just never wants anyone to forget that life on earth is not all there is. Heaven is a better alternative to life on earth. It is that simple.
*Prayer*
Thank God for creating a heaven for all believers, way beyond all we encounter in this world.
Ask God to help you focus on heaven, no matter how busy you think you are on earth.
Father, please help me to serve You as best as I can today, but still keep heaven in mind.
*Declarations*
I declare today that by my faith in God, I am a candidate of heaven. Therefore, everything I do on earth is influenced by heaven. I lay up treasures for myself in heaven. When I win souls and pray for the sick I am conscious of heaven. Henceforth, I declare by the grace of God that heaven will have a bearing on all that I do in the name of Jesus.
