*RESCUE THE PERISHING*

* 2 Timothy 3:1-5*
_But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. 2 For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy,3 heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, 4 treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having the appearance of Godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people._

The Apostle Paul paints this gloomy picture of the state of affairs on earth in the last days. We all agree that we are truly in the last days. The signs are clear and the end of the world can come any moment from now. Paul’s declaration is like a two-edged sword. You can see it as finished, end of story, and that people will be entering a Christ less eternity no matter what. You can also see it as an opportunity to win souls into the kingdom.

Whether the people described in this category are backsliding believers or unbelievers who have not had the born-again experience, it makes little difference. They all need the Savior. Those descriptions are not pointing to heaven. No one whose life follows the patterns described by Paul can beat his chest and say “I am on my way to the heavenly city”.

If you do not need to travel far to see people in the situations described, then you do not need too much external push to decide you are going to reach out to save people perishing. If we do not win people from the point of view that God loves them, we can go the other way, reminding them of the dangers of a life without God.

Revise your lifestyle again and place rescuing the perishing on top of the agenda. We must depopulate hell by getting many more into heaven. God will definitely be on our helper.

*Prayer*
Thank God for His continued love and commitment to saving people into heaven.
Ask for grace to develop a lifestyle of sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with everyone that comes your way.
Father, please increase my burden for the lost that I will have no rest if I am not telling them about your love for them.

*Declarations*
I declare that God my heavenly Father owns all souls. Therefore, I will be God’s partner in winning the lost. I make time to tell someone about Jesus, and I make time to help them find their feet in their walk with God. I declare by the grace of God that I will spend the rest of my life rescuing the perishing in the name of Jesus.
