How To Work With God
Knowing how to cooperate with God is an important component in seeing the manifestations of the finished works of Jesus Christ in our lives. Jesus has made available everything we will ever need in life, so asking God to do something He has already done is an indication of unbelief. If we want to see the manifestations, we must believe, but doubt cancels out belief and shuts us down. To overcome doubt, it is necessary to disregard what religion has taught us and go to the Bible to learn what we really need to know in this area.
If we believe, God will team up with us to bring to pass manifestations of His power.
The Believers went forth and preached everywhere, confirming their words with signs. As they did this, the Lord worked with them (Mark 16:20). God does nothing independently of people. He works with us when we cooperate with Him. God is sovereign, but He has given His authority to us. He allows us to make our own choices. Knowing the truth sets us free (John 8:32). This means freedom from lack, debt, evil influences, religion, sickness, or anything else that keeps us in bondage. A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways, and will not receive anything he asks God for (James 1:7, 8). If we believe what the Bible says, and then back off from our belief and begin to doubt later, it is as if we are of two minds. Manifestation requires a single-mindedness. Two minds equal zero.
God’s promises work by cooperation, but not everyone will accept them.
When Jesus began to teach in the synagogue on the Sabbath, many were amazed. They looked at Him and took offense, rejecting what He said. Jesus acknowledged their response, saying that those closest to Him would not believe. He could do nothing for them, because of their unbelief (Mark 6:2-5). When we present the truth to family, friends, and loved ones, we can expect the same rejection that Jesus experienced. There are three ways to cooperate with God. He needs a Believer with a physical body He can work through. God needs someone who knows His promises. He needs someone to enforce those promises by releasing their authority. God’s promises are spiritual laws, but we cannot enforce laws we are unaware of. We must learn them by studying the Scriptures. By identifying the promises in the Bible and recognizing them as laws, we can command them to come to pass. We should not beg or plead.
