Introduction to the Book “Picking up the Pieces”
Many individuals begin their life’s journey with hopes and dreams; dreams of getting married, dreams of being successful in business, dreams of raising a family, dreams of a new home, dreams of taking yearly vacations, the dream of having a successful ministry, dreams of living
for God and the list goes on and all without any interruptions. Very seldom one expects to see their life’s dreams and hopes come crashing down and everything in their life to fall to pieces. These things come upon us without warning but suddenly raping us of a life of peace and fulfillment. It comes with seduction bringing with it different kinds of elements. These elements begin to be woven into our lives creating a web and trapping us into a place of bondage; releasing one with no hope of ever escaping the grip of these destructive devices that paralyzes from ever obtaining a life’s dreams.
We enter into life with so many dreams with great expectations and hopes of having a life that will offer great opportunities. And in our pursuit of these things, we never think that there could be anything bad enough that would interrupt and rape us of our desires from com ing to pass. And before you know it, without any warning, suddenly, we are tackled by the enemy who presents
us with choices that paralyze our thought process, causing one to engage in making decisions based on emotions rather than on wisdom. The enemy always speaks to us within our minds, painting a picture of great opportunity by making these opportunities look like it will benefit
- For example, Satan confronted Jesus with a proposal in Luke 4 where he took him to a high mountain and showed him all of the kingdoms of the world and said to Jesus that he would give him the power over all of these things, but in order for these things to be his, Satan said Jesus would have to worship him. In life we too are presented with opportunities of wealth and power. It may not look like it did in this story, but the principle is the same. We must not be deceived into thinking thoughts, leading us to believe that if we do this or that, then power and wealth and happiness will be made available. There are many other things that we are offered in life, though
not being right we have the opportunity with the offer of other relationships. For example if we are married and things in the marriage are shaky often times people seek out other relationships and justify it by saying things like God wants me to be happy. In all decisions that are made
with wrong motives, there are going to be repercussion resulting in our lives falling to pieces. However, making right decisions will result in closing the door that would give opportunity leading to a life of destruction. The purpose and the desire in writing this book (Picking up the Pieces, available on this site) is with a hope to bring resolve, enabling people to know how to escape the continuous darkness they have experi enced and offer a pathway of light toward picking up the pieces, making the recovering of their dreams possible.
Imagine this book(Picking up the Pieces, available on this site) being one of the solutions to your life’s problems and taking the pieces located inside and placing each piece in its proper place and in time as all the pieces find their place will create a beautiful picture.
However, if we do not locate all of the pieces and place them where they need to go, we then live an incomplete life never reaching our potential. Have you ever tried to put together a puzzle without using the pieces that are made available? Imagine approaching solutions without
using the resources. It is my hope that you can use this book (Picking up the Pieces, available on this site) and take the pieces within and begin applying them to your life. Everyone deserves a second chance or even a first chance.
