“EXCEEDING GREAT AND PRECIOUS PROMISES”

Second Peter, chapter one, shares a powerful revelation,

³ According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:

⁴ Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

These “exceeding great and precious promises” are our INHERITANCE. They are the promises set aside for every born-again child of God and are accessible only by “like precious faith” in God’s Word (2 Peter 1:1).

One reason the Bible calls these promises “precious” is because they were “bought by the precious blood of Christ, as the lamb (of God) without blemish and without spot.” Absolutely no value can be assigned to them.

Another reason they are so “precious” is because whenever and wherever these promises are manifested, they will literally produce a Life of Heaven on Earth. I am speaking about a life that is far different from what the world has to offer.

These precious promises cover every aspect of the Believer’s life. Whether  spiritually, mentally, physically, financially, or socially, every need or desire is covered; and by our partaking of these promises, the scripture tells us we can “escape the corruption (which means ruin, rottenness, the destruction and depravity, the wickedness and perversion) that is in the world around us through lust (carnal desire).” Realize, because of the times we are in, disease and dangers have increased…but you and I can “escape.” That’s Right! Right in the middle of the flu season you can stay perfectly healthy, or whenever there is an economic crisis or dearth, you can have abundance and even operate with a “NO BUDGET ANOINTING.”

Your Nature Is God’s Nature

So this tells us, God has given unto us ALL THINGS. How? Through the knowledge (revelation) of these precious promises, and by believing and acting on them, the Scriptures tell us that we can be a “partaker of His divine nature.” Now let’s make sure we understand what this means.

The “nature” of something is defined as: “The essence and essential qualities or attributes of a thing, which constitute it and what it is.” The nature of a born-again, blood-washed child of God is the same as his Father God. You and I were born again…by the Word of God, which the Bible calls seed, and every seed produces after its own kind. So, whatever can be said about God can be said about us, “…as he is, so are we in this world” (1 John 4:17).

When you embrace the Word of God (His precious promises) regarding any of your INHERITANCE, whether it’s healing and health, marriage or money, strength or business strategies, God’s LIFE and NATURE are released into your system to bring the results that He promised.

For example, God’s nature is divine health, and His nature is immune to every form of sickness and disease we might find in the world. When you embrace His Word on healing, God’s life (power) is released and whatever kind of sickness that was in your body will be supernaturally consumed instantly.

Do you recall the woman who had an issue of blood for twelve years? (Mark 5:25) She went to the physicians for help, spending all she had, but only grew worse. After a time of confessing her faith, what she believed about Jesus, she pressed her way through the crowd and touched the hem of Jesus’ garment and was INSTANTLY made perfectly whole. The Bible says “that virtue (divine life or energy) had gone out of him” (verse 30). Her faith caused the transfer of the life (power or anointing) of God into her body and it drove out that sickness. Jesus said, “Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole.”

Understand, we don’t have to pray that Jesus come back to earth and touch us. No. Paul writes in Romans 10:6-9, “The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach….” Nothing in your body is above the operation of the Word of God.

Manifesting A Precious Promise

As a Christian when we have a situation such as needing a healing or financial need we must be persuaded  to say some scriptural confessions regarding the need. Begin to say them each day.  Through confession and meditation of the scriptures, we are bringing the precious promises of God into manifestation. The Spirit of God will then lead us to act on what we believe and what we are saying about the precious promise concerning our need. You see, “faith comes by hearing and hearing the Word of God.” And when faith is fully developed, it converts your humanity to divinity. You begin to talk, think, and act like God.

When doing this you will begin to see the manifestation of God’s power move in your situation “Like Never Before”. The Bible says (speaking about the Word), “For they are life unto those that find them, and health (medicine) to all their flesh” (Proverbs 4:22).  “As you confess God’s Word you are taking His medicine, which by the way, has no negative side effects.”

Right now, you may be shaking your head saying, “I don’t understand this.” Child of God, you don’t have to because, according to Jesus’ teaching on the kingdom and the law of seedtime and harvest, “…the seed should spring and grow up, he knoweth not how” (Mark 4:27). Just embrace the principle and practice it. You’ll understand it better by and by.

Again, whether your need is in the area of finances or family, or anything else pertaining to life, you have a precious promise in God’s Word that can handle it, and by the “incorruptible seed” of the Word of God, deliver you from the “corruption” that is in this world. You become spiritually indestructible. Follow the pattern I laid out in this letter and see the salvation of the Lord- every time. Don’t for a moment think that your case is so bad or unique that this method won’t work. Embrace this principle and commit to the process and you’ll see the impossible done. As the angel told the Virgin Mary, “For with God (the Word), nothing shall be impossible.”
