Creating an Environment for Change

Change is a process, not an event. We must implement change on a daily basis in order to see results. The Holy Spirit will help us change, but we must do our part. It is your responsibility to present your body as a living sacrifice to God. Real change allows you to be a witness to others of God’s goodness.

Change comes by renewing your mind:

“I APPEAL to you therefore, brethren, and beg of you in view of [all] the mercies of God, to make a decisive dedication of your bodies [presenting all your members and faculties] as a living sacrifice, holy (devoted, consecrated) and well pleasing to God, which is your reasonable (rational, intelligent) service and spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world (this age), [fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs], but be transformed (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind [by its new ideals and its new attitude], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God, even the thing which is good acceptable and perfect [in His sight for you]. (Romans 12:1, 2 Amp).

True holiness is being of one mind with God, and being in agreement with Him. Your mindset determines the type of life you live. Renewing your mind helps you renew your spirit, body and every area of your life. Mind renewal is a constant, ongoing process. Have a fresh mental and spiritual attitude. Stubbornness, pride and arrogance will stop the process of change. Put on new thinking and put off your old ways. Your mind is the control center for your life. Your body only does what your mind tells it to do. Plant the Word of God in your heart. Internal change begins with changing your mindset. We must be holy in our thought life. We must make changes when necessary. When you change, you will begin living a more fruitful life.

Make positive changes by creating an environment for change:

Ask yourself how you are creating positive change in your environment. Create positive changes by looking at your situations and relationships and ask yourself how you can bring glory to God through them. The glory of God can be manifested in your life when you change. Put off your former, un-renewed nature (Ephesians 4:22-24). The old man was conformed to the world’s way of doing things, but God wants you to abandon your old lifestyle. When you get saved, the old man passes away and all things become new. Take responsibility for your life. You are responsible for your words, thoughts and actions. Determine if you’ve been tolerating things in your life that shouldn’t be there.

Change takes place when you allow God to change you, while you do your part:

Any person who is engrafted in Christ is a new creation-a totally different specie of being that has never existed before (2 Corinthians 5:17) God wants transformation to continue even after you become born again. Some people change when they see the light, others change when they feel the heat. Allow the presence of God to change you, not pressure, tests and affliction. Bad decisions will get you in situations God never orchestrated.
Begin right now to create an environment of change….and as you go through the process you will see things turn around.
