Staying Positive in a Negative World Part 5 (Maintain the Right Attitude)
July 16, 2009
Our attitude is going to determine whether or not we are going to achieve a successful life. Releasing your faith and staying in a place of expectation before God are the keys to seeing God move on our behalf. The greatest desire that God has is to see all of us blessed. Part of being blessed is by us understanding the role that we have in obtaining the blessing. We must continue to have a positive attitude.
Having a good attitude is an important factor in obtaining the good life. Satan wants to take our joy from us. The only way that he can take joy from us is by us giving it to him. When he is able to take our joy it prevents us from enjoying all that God has for us. The abundant life is what God wants us to experience. It is begins with the kind of relationship that we have with God. This will determine what kind of life we will live. Bad attitudes are what keep us from experiencing the good life. We already have seen the failure to receiving the blessing by what kind of attitude the children of Israel had. Our attitude will be tested. It will be tested every single day. You can have either a victorious life or a defeated one.
The way we can develop a new attitude is by conforming to the way God thinks and this is accomplished by his Word.
Do not be conformed to this world (this age), [fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs], but be transformed (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind [by its new ideals and its new attitude], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God, even the thing which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His sight for you]. Romans 12:2, AMP
When negative things arise, keep things in perspective. We must be reminded that if we are believers, we have to have the right attitude always because it is one of the things that will win people to Christ. See it from God’s perspective, and strive to be positive about your progress. We must take initiative to change any negativity in your attitude.
Begin to base your attitude on God’s Word, not on your circumstances. Do not take it out on others by cursing them; instead, bless them.
