Here is an excerpt from my latest book titled “Picking up the Pieces”

When a person finally comes to realize that they can pick up the pieces in their lives, one must also understand that there has to be adjustments made in our thinking, actions, and decisions.

I have done some coaching on my son’s baseball team. I would usually coach the pitchers. If anyone understands anything about pitching, the objective is to get the ball within a strike zone and locating it either left, right, inside, outside, high, or low. Using these different locations would help throw the batter off making it more difficult to hit the ball. However, the pitcher would not always be successful in putting the ball where he wanted it to go. When this happens on three or more pitches in a row I would often say make the adjustment, which meant he would have to get back to the fundamentals of pitching: maintaining balance, landing your foot on the proper line, releasing the ball, and following through. When applying to what has been previously taught one can then get themselves back on track mentally, and fundamentally. I think that in our lives this is also true. Most of us know how things are suppose to work and what we should do, etc. But somewhere in the middle of the season in our lives on the playing field in our game we have a tendency to forget the basic fundamentals, and because of this our focus has become blurred by all of the missed pitches and we just can’t seem to get the ball back where it needs to go.

When this happens, it means that we need to make an adjustment. The most important adjustment that we have to make is concerning our relationship with God.

Since God is interested in our lives, he also wants to make sure that he is a part of your life. Our success can only happen when we include God in all that we do and we include ourselves in all he has for us. This has to be a joint effort. We cannot do anything without him.

I am the Vine; you are the branches. Whoever lives in Me and I in him bears much (abundant) fruit. However, apart from Me [cut off from vital union with Me] you can do nothing.
John 15:5, AMP

Ask yourself this question! Are you willing to begin to make this adjustment?

Did you know that there is a reason for your existence? God knew you before you were even formed into a fetus. He has a specific plan for your life. Your job while you are here on earth is not to choose your destiny but to discover it. Many people search for fulfillment their entire lives and never find it because they fail to discover their purpose. God is the Creator of all things. Your life is not a mere coincidence or a mistake, but a part of His plan; He has a specific assignment for you. Do you know what it is? If not, here are 10 questions to help you discover your true destiny:

   1. What is your deepest desire?
Psalm 37:4 says “Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.” When you decide to serve God, He will actually give you the desire to do what you were created to do. You will know it is a God-given desire because it will line up with His Word.
2. What stirs your passion?
Passion is the zeal, enthusiasm, excitement and intensity you feel about things that are important to you. It will stir you to action. What bothers you the most? God may be calling on you to find a solution to a problem or to be a solution to a problem.
  3. What naturally flows out of you?
Have you ever taught someone how to do something that you could do with your eyes closed? It may have seemed simple to you, but complex to them. What is that natural talent or ability you have that others do not?
4. Where do you get real results?
In Luke 13:6-9, Jesus gave us a time guideline for how long it should take to “try something out,” such as a job, career, business or ministry. He gave an example of a man who had a fig tree in his vineyard and had been checking for three years to see if it was producing fruit. Then Jesus asked the question, “Why cumbered it the ground?” This was a nice way of asking, “Why is this thing taking up space?” What is taking up space in your life?
5. What is the witness of the Holy Spirit in your spirit?
God will confirm the plan He has for your life. He will sometimes speak through dreams and visions or in a still, small voice. He will make sure He gets the message to you in one way or another. Are you listening? To hear and recognize His voice clearly, you must position yourself by spending time seeking Him, diligently praying and studying His Word.
   6. What do mature Christians see in you?
Keep in mind that a “mature Christian” is not just someone who has been saved for a while, but instead is a Believer who consistently makes decisions based on the Word of God. Mature Christians can give you good advice about seeking God’s will for your life.
7. What career or ministry do you feel the peace of God about pursuing?
Philippians 4:6-7 says to pray with thanksgiving and let your request be known to God, and He will bring you peace about the things that concern you. Let the peace of God in your spirit man guide you and confirm His will for your life.
8. What thoughts, visions or dreams are impossible to put out of your mind?
God speaks to us in various ways. He will give you thoughts, visions and dreams, but your job is to recognize when it is God’s message and when it is not. You will know God has given you a dream, vision or concept when you have spent time seeking Him. He will confirm it through His Word, as well as through people who may speak into your life about the situation. In addition you will see situations and circumstances line up to make your dream or vision come to pass.
9. What goal or ambition can you dedicate yourself to 100 percent, for the rest of your life?
Is there something you can do for hours and really enjoy? What career or job could you do for the rest of your life? When you discover your purpose, it will incorporate all of your gifts, talents and strengths, and you will have a passion for it that enables you to do it even when you are tired.
10. What do people volunteer to help you accomplish?
When you find what you were created to do, God will send people, opportunities and resources to help you along the way. Is there something you do that people want to support? When you get into that place, you will find total fulfillment. Don’t waste another moment trying to find satisfaction in all the wrong places; find God’s true purpose for your life today!

Let me know if this has helped you.

God has always been the answer and solution to every problem that we face. His Word is the mirror that we look into to reveal and show us what to do.
We have all experienced situations that seemed impossible to handle at the time. It may have been a financial challenge or a bad report from the doctor. When things seem hopeless, and you feel you are at your worst, that is the time to turn to God and seek Him with everything you have. You may feel that you are alone in your circumstances, but God is a very present help in times of trouble. Although it would be great if the Lord would perform some sort of magical transformation of the tough circumstances you face that just isn’t reality. However, the Word of God is your way out of any situation. Because God’s Word is infallible and contains burden-removing, yoke-destroying power, when you can meditate on it, and speak it, you will see changes in your life. While the facts about your situation may look bleak, the truth found in God’s Word brings light, hope, and deliverance. You can’t handle life’s challenges alone, and God doesn’t want you to. He loves you, and as long as you believe this in your heart, you have access to His divine intervention. Romans 8:38, 39 declare, “For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Don’t allow the devil to convince you that God doesn’t love you or won’t help you. The enemy wants to steal your confidence in God. He knows that if he can cause you to feel isolated from God’s love, you will lose hope, and your life will become a battleground of chaos and destruction. What I want you to grasp is the fact that Satan wants to influence how you feel. When you allow the pressures of life to influence your emotions in a negative way, you will most likely make decisions and take actions that will keep you stuck in your present situation. Because of this, it is important that you give more attention to the Word than you do to what is going on around you. Get in the Bible and meditate on the Scriptures that speak to your situation. Allow your feelings to be governed and controlled by the Word so your decisions and actions can lead you in the right direction. In life, you will experience good and bad moments. That reality is never going to change. Christians, and non-Christians alike, will experience both. But God will be there for you through it all. Joshua 1:9 declares, “Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Perhaps you are facing a situation in life and are wondering if God is going to show up. Remember, the Scriptures declare: nothing can separate you from God and His love. You may not understand every detail of God’s plan for you, but when you believe in your heart that God loves you, feeling like you are fighting your battles alone will soon fade. When you have confidence in God, you will trust in what His Word says about your situation. He is not some impersonal “being” in the sky who is disconnected from the day-to-day realities in your life. He knows just when to step in and assist you when you need it most. Cast your cares upon the Lord, and don’t try to carry the load yourself. He wants to help.

Living by faith is not an option for the Believer; it is a way of life. God’s Word is the governing force of His Kingdom, and this Kingdom operates by specific laws and principles. One of those spiritual principles includes the law of faith. Faith is the currency that enables you to receive the promises of God and the blessings of His Kingdom. As a child of the King, you must use faith to access what is available to you in the spiritual realm.

There are two systems in operation in the Earth: the Kingdom of God system and the world’s system. The Kingdom of God is governed by Jesus Christ; He is Lord of this system. It is founded on love and operates by faith. It is higher than the world’s system. On the other hand, the world’s system is governed by Satan, and is founded on selfishness. Fear rules this system and is the spiritual force controlling those who live in it.

As children of God, we have to understand the way God has intended for us to operate on this Earth. We are in the world, but not of the world. We are ambassadors of Heaven, occupying the Earth until Jesus returns. We are His representatives, as such, He expects us to demonstrate His power and ability to the world, so those in that system are drawn to Him. Faith is the only way to accomplish this.

Many Christians today do not live by faith. Faith is the substance of things hoped for, and the evidence of things not seen. Therefore, it should be no surprise when what you believe from the Bible is not immediately available to your physical senses. In fact, you should know when you set out on your faith walk, that you do not need to see things with your physical eyes because your faith is the proof that what you believe exists!

Everything in the natural realm originates in the spiritual realm. When you have faith, you are able to see everything Heaven has to offer you without “seeing” it in front of you first. By tapping into faith, you gain access to the abundant wealth, riches, health, and blessings available to you. Anything you find in the Word of God is available to you in Heaven’s storehouses; from wisdom to finances.

Abiding in the Kingdom of God means living by faith on a consistent basis. The systems of this world are failing and falling apart. Those in the Kingdom of God have an advantage because of their faith in God’s Word. Find out what God says about you and believe it! That is what living the faith life is all about.

Moses was one of those who walked in the promises of God. Through the verses penned by the writer of Hebrews, Moses and his parents portray the inner motivations of promise-driven people. Without these motivations, we will quickly run out of “gas” in our journey with God.

What is the motivational “fuel” of the promise-driven life?

Verses taken out of Hebrews 11

1. A Courageous Confidence. (23)

    …they didn’t fear the king’s edict.

Amram and Jochebed (Exodus 6:20) are named together in the Old Testament, but only Jochebed is credited with hiding Moses for three months (Exodus 2:2). However, the parents of Moses worked together to hide their beautiful, precious child. The writer of Hebrews includes Amram in the effort to protect Moses.

The parents of Moses did not fear the king’s command to hand over all babies for execution. They were confident in the rule of God over their lives. Obeying God was more important than obeying anyone else. Refusing to obey the king, they would rather submit to the rule of God and die.

Truly seeking the kingdom of God first in their lives, Amram and Jochebed are fueled by confidence in the sovereign rule of God over all things.

Confidence in the rule of God enables the children of God to sort out the difficult decisions in life, establish priorities, and face earthly tyrants without fear. Our God reigns!

2. A Deep Dissatisfaction. (24-26)

…his attention was on the reward.

Promise-driven people live their lives with a nagging dissatisfaction with things as they are. They know there is something more “up ahead”. Moses refused temporal pleasures and worldly treasures. When Moses rejected his adopted royal family, he experienced profound suffering, difficulty, and pain.

Moses was consistently looking away from “here” and riveting his attention on “there”. Nothing “here” was going to satisfy is deepest longings. Promise-driven people can never be satisfied with “here”.

3. A Passionate Pursuit. (27)

…as one who sees Him who is invisible.

In a decisive act, Moses left Egypt without regard for Pharoah’s reaction. Moses was intent on pursuing and pleasing only ONE person in his world. Promise-driven people willingly leave everything to follow the Savior. The essence of discipleship is summed up in Jesus’ command to “Follow Me”.

Jesus cannot be the greatest pursuit of our lives. He must be the ONLY pursuit. All other pursuits must be left behind “in Egypt”.

4. A Creative Compassion. (28)

…so that the destroyer of the firstborn might not touch them.

Directed by God to establish the Passover observance, Moses was intent on rescuing souls from judgment and destruction. Splashing blood on the doorposts was a visual, dramatic illustration of the awful cost that had to be paid for sin.

Promise-driven people will do whatever it takes to reach people for Christ. Creative communication will drive the truth home. The message of the cross alone has the power to change lives and restore broken homes. Promise-driven people carry a relentless burden for the endangered souls around them.

5. An Infectious Influence. (28a, 29)

    By faith he…

    By faith they…

Moses modeled a life of faith to those who knew him and observed his walk with God. Moses influenced a nation to trust God and follow Him. Notice that verse 28 describes what HE did by faith. Immediately following, verse 29 describes what THEY did by faith. Moses alone observed the Passover by faith, but the entire nation passed through the Red Sea by faith.

Is your walk of faith infectious? Are others motivated to trust God because of your example?

Conclusion: Not content to settle for small pleasures and treasures, promise-driven people are motivated internally to press forward to an unseen kingdom and invisible Savior. Willing to do whatever it takes to communicate the gospel, promise-driven people infect others with their faith.

There is no point in trying to avoid battles because, in life, they are inevitable. As Christians, we are guaranteed to experience affliction, persecution, adversity, and trials. However, God has promised us absolute victory in every situation we face. Our job is to fight the good fight of faith and remain steadfast
where God’s Word is concerned. By refusing to be moved from what God has said in the Bible, activating our faith, and rising up in the authority invested in us through Jesus Christ, we can walk out of any battle triumphant.

Many times, the dilemmas we find ourselves in have nothing to do with the devil; but, they have everything to do with the bad choices we have made. When we refuse to follow God’s instructions and do things His way, we can end up going through unnecessary affliction and hardship. But even when this happens, God’s love is in hot pursuit of us. His grace is His willingness to get involved in our situations and circumstances. We can have confidence He is standing by to help us, even when we make senseless mistakes.

How you handle yourself in the midst of the battle makes the difference. One of the most important things we can do is be mindful of the power of words. Second Corinthians 4:13 says, “We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak.” Whatever you believe, you must speak. Actually, what is in your heart in abundance will come out of your mouth eventually and make known what you really believe anyway. As it relates to the Believer, our faith is evident by what we say. If we claim the promise of God that says we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us, we demonstrate our belief first and foremost by declaring it.

Using the Word of God during spiritual battles is guaranteed to get results. It is the sword of the Spirit and will cut to pieces the snares of the enemy. Whatever is coming against you, find out what God says and put it in your mouth. When you speak what you believe, you send a message to the devil that says you are fighting back and you are winning.

Verse 15 of that same chapter reveals another important key to victory in battle, “For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God.” I don’t know about you, but I need God to get involved in my battles! This scripture clearly says that when we actively engage the power of thanksgiving by giving God thanks for everything He has done and for who He is, it releases His grace, which is His unmerited favor. It’s not that we deserve it, but He loves us so much. He can’t help but intervene when we use the big gun of thanksgiving as a weapon.

I want to encourage you to remain immovable when you’re going through a tough time. Trouble won’t last always. You have been equipped with God’s Word, which is more than enough to fight off anything the devil throws at you. You win!

To this point Joshua and the people of Israel had experienced only victory. Chapter 7 is the story of defeat. Thirty-six men were dead, and the army was frightened. No doubt, Joshua was confused and puzzled. Certainly he expected an unbroken string of victories, a winning season, as it were.

Of course, that was God’s desire, too—for Israel then and for us today. God provides every avenue to make victory possible. At the same time, though, He does not make defeat impossible. We make choices that can lead to victory or failure. Too often we choose to go our own way, and sin is the result. But remember, a failing in life does not make life a failure. When we experience failure, it does not have to be a lasting defeat.

The Curse That Is Here (v. 11)—”Israel has sinned; they have violated my covenant, which I commanded them to keep. They have taken some of the devoted things; they have stolen, they have lied, they have put them with their own possessions.”

Joshua reminded the Israelites that all of the gold, silver, and bronze was to be kept holy to the Lord (6:19). But Achan took a portion of the treasure from Jericho, violating the commands of God (7:1). Even though God’s command was clear, somehow Achan rationalized his sin.

As a result of Achan’s sin, God removed His hand of blessing and protection from the Israelites (v. 12). God never honors disobedience.

A Cause That Is Clear (vv. 2-3, 11)—In verses 10-11, God told Israel that they had sinned. What caused this failure?

Overconfidence (vv. 2-3)—An attitude of overconfidence reduced the size of the army. The people’s thinking went like this: Since we did so well at Jericho, let’s not worry much about a small place like Ai. But they did not do the work at Jericho; God did. The people simply walked around the walls, and God brought them down. How often do we succumb to this kind of thinking? Christians and churches are susceptible to being overconfident and forgetting that “the battle is the Lord’s” (1 Sam. 17:47). Standing in our own strength without dependence on God through prayer leads to defeat.

Disobedience (v. 11a)—Notice that the failure of one man led to implication of the entire nation. When we harbor sin in our hearts, we affect those around us. The failure in our own lives touches our families and churches.

Are we, then, left without help or hope in the midst of our failure? It has been said that it is bad to fall but worse to wallow in it. The good news is that something can be done.

A Cure That Is Near (vv. 19-20, 25)—What do we do when we fail? We kneel at the feet of Jesus, the one Who paid our penalty, confess our failures, and seek His strength to go on.

Confession (vv. 19-20)—Achan’s personal confession details the event. He confesses that he saw the treasure, coveted it, and took the items. Then he confesses that he hid them. How many times have we had to say that? I saw it, I coveted it, I took it, and now I’m trying to hide it. God calls for a confession of our failure, our sin. He desires that we see it in the same way He sees it, as disobedience.

Correction (v. 25)—God said in the beginning that sin brings death. Sin brought defeat in the life of Israel. Joshua and the people of Israel took Achan, his sons and daughters, and all that he had to the edge of the city and stoned them. Achan’s sin brought tragic consequences.

But before we think that God was too harsh, remember that the same God who punished Achan sent His Son to deal with our sin problem through His death. Failure broke the heart of God to the point that He sent His Son as the solution to our sin.

Making up for lost ground is always difficult. For the football team that falls behind, the student who procrastinates too long, or the couple who spends too much money, catching up is hard to do. This was true for the Israelites, and it’s true in Christians today.

We seek to live for God and depend on His power and strength, but we do fail; and when we fail, it is time to try again. Joshua teaches us principles for regaining lost ground.

Joshua chapter 8

Follow God’s plan (v. 1). “Then the Lord said to Joshua, ‘Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Take the whole army with you, and go up and attack Ai. For I have delivered into your hands the King of Ai, his people, his city and his land.’”

No Fear—The Israelites had sinned, and that sin lead to fear. The people were hesitant to continue their attempt to capture the Promised Land. Their failure led to their lack of confidence. God gave them His plan, which hinged on their willingness to live by faith, not by fear. Sin can bring fear and a loss of confidence in our lives, too. Only in confession can we claim the renewed power of God in our lives.

No Discouragement—We can only imagine the disheartening effect of the failure at Ai. These people who had lived in the victory of Jericho now dwelled in the defeat at Ai. However, God reminded His people that His plan would bring the victory. He instructed them to take the entire army to Ai. Everyone was involved; no one was left out. They set the ambush and prepared to fake a retreat so that the people of Ai would be convinced that, once again, they were running scared. Isn’t it just like God to take us back to the place where we last did business with Him in order to restore our confidence? Indeed, the men of Ai fell for the ruse. As they pursued the fleeing army of Israel, once-hidden Israeli soldiers entered and torched the empty city of Ai. It was destroyed completely, and the men of Ai were defeated.

We must remember that no matter our defeats, we can experience victory only as we depend on the plan of God in our lives.

Rejoice in God’s provision (vv. 30-35). The Israelites took the 30-mile walk to Shechem in the beautiful valley area of Palestine. The valley was about two miles wide. On either side of it stood two mountains: the rugged, rocky Mount Ebal and the wooded, beautiful Mount Gerizim. The time came to stop at Ebal and worship.

Remember to give thanks (vv. 30-31). Joshua led the people of God in worship. They built an altar according to Moses’ specifications and offered sacrifices as a sign of their thankfulness to God for His victory. It’s easy, even tempting, to start celebrating after a victory and to forget who is ultimately responsible. How many times is everyone recognized at the Thanksgiving table except the One who really deserves our thanks?

Renew your commitment (vv. 32-35). Joshua remembered during the celebration and sacrifices to give attention to God’s Word. He “copied on stones the law of Moses” (v. 32) and then read it to all of the people. The behavior of Joshua and Israel was a symbol of their renewed commitment to God.

Some will read this chapter and see the regained ground as that which was overtaken at Ai. The real regained ground, though, was the renewed commitment God’s people to Him. Just like water, our tendency is to flow only downhill, spiritually. We need to be reminded constantly, in times of challenge and in times of victory, that our real strength and our real source is God. Commitment to Him in worship and in His Word restores ground previously lost because of sin.

In Joshua chapter 6 it tells the story of Jericho. The people of God had to decide whether they would continue the journey to where God wanted them. Would they move forward in spite of the obstacles, or would they once again retreat into safety?

We each arrive at this crossroad in our spiritual walk. God does not place us on the planet without purpose; He has a divine design for each of us. But as we seek to follow His direction, difficulties confront us. Joshua teaches us how to overcome the obstacles that would keep us from following the will of God for our lives.

We overcome obstacles through communication (vv. 1-2). “Now Jericho was tightly shut up because of the Israelites. No one went out and no one came in. Then the Lord said to Joshua, ‘See, I have delivered Jericho into your hands along with its king and its fighting men.’”

The major obstacle facing Joshua and the people of Israel was Jericho. If they could not conquer this city, then all hope for the Israelites was gone. How would they reach the city? How would they scale the wall?

Joshua had a God who communicated with him. Verse 2 reads, “And the Lord said to Joshua.” Though such a statement might seem odd when applied to our lives, such communication from God is common for Joshua. God told Joshua, “See, I have delivered Jericho into your hands, along with its king and its fighting men” and provided the plan for taking Jericho (vv. 2-5).

Whatever your obstacle, God is willing to cross it with you. He is committed to communicating with His people and to providing strength, comfort, and hope. If you are up against a wall and want to know how to deal with it, don’t try to overcome under your own strength. Commune with God. Let that be your first plan of action, rather than your last resort.

We defeat difficulties through compliance (vv. 6-7). “So Joshua son of Nun called the priests and said to them, ‘Take up the ark of the covenant of the Lord and have seven priests carry trumpets in front of it.’ And he ordered the people, ‘Advance! March around the city, with the armed guard going ahead of the ark of the Lord.’”

In the face of such a great obstacle, Joshua complied with the plan of God. Though he may not have completely understood the plan or its significance, he followed God. Joshua moved the people to action.

God could use a man like Joshua because he was a man of faith and a man of obedience. He simply followed as God instructed. And the people followed.

God instructed the people of Israel to carry the trumpets, with the ark of the Lord following for six days, and they were not to speak (vv. 8,10). On the seventh day they were to follow this routine with one addition: They were to shout in glory to God because the city had been delivered to them (v. 16).

What an act of faith it was for Joshua and the people to march around the city! No previous (and shall I dare say, subsequent?)battle had ever been won in such a manner. Yet around the city they all marched. It was an act of faith and an act or obedience.

Their obedience to God produced wonders. We read of no negative spirit, discouragement, or disbelief. As they marched circle after circle around the city, I’m sure they could see the seeming impossibility of the situation. Yet they walked. Obedience is the key. Compliance is the key to the moving of God’s mighty hand in our lives.

Many today pride themselves on living within reason, but God called His people to live by faith. We are to walk in faith and obedience to His direction and leadership in our lives.

Impossibilities become possibilities through confidence (vv. 20-21). “When the trumpets sounded, the people shouted, and at the sound of the trumpet, when the people gave a loud shout, the wall collapsed; so every man charged straight in, and they took the city. They devoted the city to the Lord and destroyed with the sword every living thing in it—men and women, young and old, cattle, sheep and donkeys.”

It was uncommon common sense to believe that God could make the impossible possible. Yet in the end the walls fell. You see, the walls were not the problem. They never are. We people are the problem. We always are. God has the power to do as He chooses, but He desires that we act in obedient faith. When we do, He takes care of the walls.

Hebrews 11:30 reminds us, “By faith the walls of Jericho fell, after the people had marched around them for seven days.” Joshua and the people of God demonstrated deep confidence in the power of God. Do you have that kind of confidence?

In this world we have so many things that move us off of our focus to what is important. Many have been deceived into thinking that other things are more important. One of the things that many people have forgotten about is the importance of doing what the Word of God teaches.

How many times have we went to conferences, retreats, revivals or even coming to church and hear good teaching and it not change your life whatsoever?

Here is what I want to share with you about a misconception that if we will get in the Word enough, it will solve all of our problems. That is what we pretty much all thought. This however is not correct. It is the doer of the Word who gets results. (James 1:2). You can go to all of the great meetings, sit under teachings in the local church for years and still be in bondage in your life.

Think about that for a moment, and you’ll realize just how true that is.

You own and read everyone’s books and listen to everyone’s CD’s etc. Quote everything you’ve read and heard from the scripture. Rattle off memory scriptures and know all of the definitions from the Greek. But unless you are willing to receive the truth and do the will of the Lord, you won’t get results in any area and you’ll stay in bondage year after year. When you begin to do the Word it will change your life.

Here are some examples of approaching things with right priorities.

1. Some fail to receive because they ask for the wrong reasons.

James 4:3 “Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.” Let us look at it out of the AMP.

2. Some fail to receive because they are earthly minded.

Colossians 3:1-2 NKJV “If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above…Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.

3. Some fail to receive because they don’t put the things of God first.

Matthew 6:33 “…seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

When our priorities are right, God then can release unto all things.
